Concept phone-Samsung’s Brix

What an interesting concept! We usually take these concept phones for their “entertainment” value and wait for more credible sources regarding new phone designs and concepts from mobile phone makers.Samsung’s Art and Design Institute recently concluded a 10-week intensive course in Product Design for students. The course wraps up with the students coming up with their own prototypes and concept phones, with the Samsung BRIX emerging as the headturner.
The Samsung BRIX Concept Phone, a modular, full touchscreen multimedia mobile phone, is different from all other phones as it allows users freedom and the option to enhance or improve their most important accessory, their mobile phone, via “brix” or brick modules.Say, you aren’t content with how big your screen is, then by all means, add a brick, if you want to other add-ons and brick expansions, go ahead and do it.
Now the funny thing is, this idea isn’t 100% new to Samsung, as they have been toying with an idea similar to this for quite some time now, they even have the patents to prove it, called “Mobile terminal having wide viewing function digital broadcasting” “The patent application describes the possibility of plugging together 2 separate Samsung phones to expand available screen size for better media viewing experience,” as the UnwiredView writes.
Perhaps with the creation of the BRIX concept phone, Samsung would indeed be able to turn this concept into reality. The world is waiting, I bet.
